The old coach houses and stables have been renovated into a magnificent banqueting hall with seating for 120 people and a spacious mezzanine floor. The elaborate restoration of the Courtyard and Coach Houses was recently completed and the first wedding took place in the Coach House on June 15th 2006.

The restored Coach House is a dramatic combination of ancient and modern, with the main hall dominated by a beautiful French tapestry and overlooked by a mezzanine floor with glass balustrade, itself reached by a glass and oak staircase; the mezzanine is ideal for wedding ceremonies for up to about 80 guests and the tables downstairs can be then be laid up and decorated in advance. It can also be used for drinks before your wedding breakfast, for the orchestra and dancing or there are comfortable rattan chairs for sitting out. At the one end of the mezzanine floor, there are French windows and a balcony overlooking the historic carp pool with a stunning 30 foot water feature.

The hall is light and airy, as the huge original archway, through which the horse drawn coaches would once pass, is now glazed, giving magical views over the lawns and gardens and the 17th century dovecote. So many choices are here for those memorable wedding photographs – even a pretty, shaded arbour complete with a two seater swing! Most of the illumination in The Coach House is from spotlights in the roof, creating gentle reflected light; there are also two huge chandeliers, which can be decorated with flowers and trailing ivy.

The three original coach house doors  are now glazed and, on warm summer evenings, slide open onto a flagstone terrace, bordered by the original cobbles, saved during the restoration of the courtyard; the original clock in the clock tower, made by Thomas Blakeway of Rushbury in 1753, still accurately chimes the hours. The Italian limestone floor is warmed by underfloor heating and part of the original stabling has been converted into a modern kitchen.

The Coach House costs £3,250 for a wedding on a summer weekend or a Bank Holiday in 2008 (£3,500 in 2009) and includes a spectacular Bridal Suite for the wedding night, overlooking The Coach House and the lakes. Weekdays from Monday to Thursday (excluding Bank Holidays) and some winter dates are at a lower price. A commercial kitchen, tables and chairs are also included in the price.

We work exclusively with Country House Wedding Venues, who can arrange viewing appointments or you can ring direct on 01584 841267. Country House Wedding Venues handle all our marketing, bookings and administration and the caterer will add their commission of £1.50 per head or £230 plus VAT, whichever is the greater, to the invoice for the catering.

Catering
Wedding catering is provided several approved caterers, including Davenport House, Sue Hinks, Consuming Passion, The Ludlow Catering Company & Golden Goose Events.
Wedding catering at The Coach House can only be undertaken by an approved caterer. The reason is that the success of your wedding depends on the quality of the catering and the arrangements on the day, so we don’t want to take risks. If none of these caterers is available or can’t cater to your taste, there may be other caterers that we can recommend as we do add new ones from time to time; please ask. Some of the links above require Adobe pdf - see brochure link above to download.

Music
Please note that there is a planning restriction which means that music must end at 11.30pm.

A quote from the bridegroom of our first wedding on 15th June
"D
elbury provided a beautiful venue for our wedding. It offered us many attractive views and areas, as well as modern and well designed facilities that helped everything run perfectly on the day. Our wedding really was the perfect day, and we would like to thank you for providing such a memorable place in which to have it.

We received so many comments from our guests on how beautiful the grounds were. A striking aspect of Delbury as a wedding venue was the abundance of attractive areas on site. As well as providing many relaxing environments for our guests to enjoy themselves, it also offered a variety of locations for photographs, without requiring our bridal party to move far from their guests.

The mezzanine floor and the courtyard offered us extra areas to use for food service and dancing, which meant that we were able to have our ceremony, photographs, reception and our accommodation all on site, without anything being compromised."
